Kit is an email-marketing option to investigate for a creator or publication that wants to build a subscribed audience. Decide whether the job is a straightforward newsletter or a more developed sequence of messages. The useful plan covers that workflow and the actual subscriber count without making the owner maintain unnecessary complexity.
We researched official public information on 7 October 2026. No campaign, account, deliverability measurement or paid subscription was tested. The observed Creator reference was for 1,000 subscribers in USD, with the billing country unconfirmed.
Free and paid answer different requirements
The pricing page lists a free Newsletter option with a 10,000-subscriber allowance and limited capabilities. It is a real alternative to evaluate when the workflow fits its conditions. Subscriber capacity alone is not the reason to select Creator: the paid tier’s sequences, automation and removal of platform branding can matter independently.
| Question | What to compare | Decision |
|---|---|---|
| Basic newsletter | Current free-plan limits and required signup workflow | Evaluate the free option before purchasing automation. |
| Repeated automated sequences | Creator sequences and automation entitlement | Buy the capability only when the sequence has a defined purpose. |
| Audience growth | The price at the next subscriber tier | Budget for the audience you expect to maintain, not only today’s list. |
Use the explicit annual amount
The observed Creator card at 1,000 subscribers showed US$390 for annual billing, with a rounded US$33 monthly display. Multiplying that rounded display by twelve would produce US$396, which is not the observed annual amount. The plan record therefore uses the explicit US$390 commitment. Taxes and future renewal remain unconfirmed.
Creator lists unlimited sequences and automation, polls and removal of Kit branding. Those are seller-described features, not proof that every planned integration or campaign is supported. Write down the messages, triggers and audience segments you need and verify the exact workflow before committing a year of spend.
Start with the content promise
A useful publication newsletter has a clear reason for subscribing and a schedule the editor can maintain. More automation does not replace that content. Prepare one representative edition and one realistic sequence; identify who will handle replies, corrections and unsubscribes before adding more steps.
A creator might want a welcome sequence introducing a small set of evergreen articles, followed by the normal digest. Those links need review when the articles move or the recommendation changes. Treat automation as a maintained publishing workflow rather than a permanent copy of old advice sent without supervision.
Keep the ordinary reply mailbox separate in the budget. Campaign software and an inbox do different work. Domain access, sender authentication and truthful consent records also remain setup tasks. We have not configured any of them in Kit, and a feature listing does not establish a measured inbox-placement result.
How to make a fair comparison
Compare MailerLite, GetResponse and AWeber at a matching contact or subscriber count, with the relevant automation included. Compare the actual annual payment with annual payments, and monthly billing with monthly billing. A free plan with different limits is an option, but not proof that the paid products are identical.
Our editorial view is conditional: Creator is worth shortlisting when its specific sequence workflow solves work the publication needs to do. Skip it when a simpler free newsletter is sufficient or the content schedule has not been established. Review the current account quote and the next subscriber tier before upgrading.
Continue with mailbox versus newsletter costs and a free-versus-paid newsletter comparison. This guide explains documented decision inputs without rating deliverability or predicting subscription revenue.

How to read these prices
Compare the job, the full initial commitment and the renewal billing basis. Each company appears once. Open Change plan to view every recorded plan and term. Showing a plan does not change your two-plan comparison. The initial view uses a recorded non-trial option where available; it is not a ranking. Feature marks are tied to the documented plan, market, limits and billing conditions. Their check dates are independent from price rechecks. Europe is not one price or tax jurisdiction; select your actual billing country at checkout. These are researched public offers, not checkout quotes or hands-on tests. Currency values are not conversions. Listing order does not depend on commission.
