Hostinger: Diagram showing Initial term, WordPress tools. Renewal.

Hostinger is an option to investigate if you want to run a WordPress website on a paid hosting service. Start with the job you need the host to do: keep the site available, provide enough resources, and let you recover from a mistake. A large discount alone does not answer those questions. This guide uses official documentation checked on 6 October 2026; we have not bought these plans or measured their speed, uptime or support.

Who should consider Hostinger?

A first portfolio, small publication or business site can begin with a modest requirements list: one site, a manageable media library, reliable updates and a recovery plan. An owner who regularly changes plugins may also need a separate testing environment. These are different needs from running several client sites or a busy store. Write down your requirements before selecting a tier; paying for a longer feature list is not automatically a better choice.

For a simple site, the entry plan is worth comparing against other entry plans. For a frequently updated WordPress project, investigate the backup frequency and staging entitlement more closely. We would shortlist a plan only after those requirements and its renewal bill fit the project. That is a decision framework, not a claim that Hostinger is the fastest or best host.

What does the advertised price mean?

DecisionCheck before buyingReason to skip an upgrade
CapacityActual sites, users, storage or audience in the selected planThe extra capacity has no defined use
CommitmentFull upfront amount, renewal period and temporary extrasThe commitment exceeds the available budget
OperationWho will manage updates, access, recovery and the required workflowA purchase leaves essential work without an owner

These are prepaid offers, not monthly invoices. Renewal billing duration, tax and optional additions need checkout confirmation. A four-year commitment uses more cash initially than a one-year offer, even when the advertised monthly equivalent is lower. Keep the initial payment and later rate in separate budget columns. [Official WordPress plan page]

Separate the services that are included

The observed plan cards distinguish weekly backups on Premium from daily backups on Unlimited; the listed storage is 20 GB and 50 GB respectively. Cloud Startup lists 100 GB and daily/on-demand backups. These are capacity and feature descriptions from the seller, not independent performance results. “Unlimited” is subject to the provider’s fair-usage policy. Confirm that limits suit your actual site, rather than treating the plan name as a promise of unlimited computing power.

The domain offer lasts one year on qualifying terms; renewal becomes a separate expense. The free-domain page also lists staging for Unlimited, while the staging help article still describes eligibility as Business or higher. Confirm the exact product entitlement before paying. Keep a record of the plan selected, not just a screenshot of a general marketing headline. [Domain offer and plan features]

Check staging and recovery before you need them

Hostinger documents a staging copy for testing WordPress changes. Its help page warns that publishing this copy replaces live files and the database. Live changes made since the copy was created can therefore be lost. For a site taking orders or publishing frequently, that detail changes how you plan an update. Protect new live data and verify a backup before a push. [Staging documentation]

A sensible evaluation would include restoring one deliberately changed page, checking an image after recovery, and confirming that the backup contains the database as well as files. We have not performed those operations on a Hostinger account. Make the recovery test part of your own setup, and keep a separate copy of important material. A tool being listed on a sales page does not prove that your particular recovery procedure has been tested.

What alternatives should you compare?

Self-hosted WordPress is an open-source platform, not a Hostinger-only product. You can investigate another compatible host using the same requirements list. A free local WordPress installation is also useful while preparing content or learning, although it does not put a public website online. Check the WordPress hosting requirements rather than buying proprietary extras just to install the software.

Compare equivalent needs: number of sites, storage, recovery options, staging, renewal and contract length. A host with a higher first-year price might cost less over the period you actually expect to use it. Conversely, a long prepaid offer can be reasonable when the commitment and renewal are affordable. Neither conclusion can be drawn by comparing the largest discount percentages.

Before you choose

Ask for the exact total, renewal term, mailbox costs after the included period, refund exclusions and staging entitlement. Keep your domain and account recovery details under your control. Then decide whether you value the lower introductory monthly equivalent enough to prepay four years. For the underlying checklist, read what hosting plans include and whether to separate your domain and hosting.

How to read these prices

Compare the job, the full initial commitment and the renewal billing basis. Each company appears once. Open Change plan to view every recorded plan and term. Showing a plan does not change your two-plan comparison. The initial view uses a recorded non-trial option where available; it is not a ranking. Feature marks are tied to the documented plan, market, limits and billing conditions. Their check dates are independent from price rechecks. Europe is not one price or tax jurisdiction; select your actual billing country at checkout. These are researched public offers, not checkout quotes or hands-on tests. Currency values are not conversions. Listing order does not depend on commission.
