Official Hosting.com logo above an original editorial overview of hosting choices, billing terms and migration planning.

hosting.com is the current brand for the hosting business formerly known as A2 Hosting. This researched guide concerns the current Starter offer, not an old A2 plan name, logo or commission description. Product and operating requirements should be matched to the current official quote.

We checked public official information on 15 October 2026. No hosting account, migration, restore, speed measurement or support interaction was tested. The observed browser context was United States (Global), with USD displayed; billing country, tax and checkout conditions still need confirmation.

The entry reference and its boundary

Starter lists five sites, 15 GB NVMe, email, SSL, malware removal, daily off-server backups and a managed migration service. Confirm the migration scope and any complexity-based fee before committing; the billing policy allows fees for some non-cPanel moves. The separate cPanel Starter has a one-site allowance. Staging and preview require Pro rather than Starter. On shared hosting, WordPress plugins and updates remain an owner responsibility; a hosting bundle does not remove the need to maintain the application.

Use the exact published payment

The four-year offer displays US$1.99 per month and an exact Pay Today amount of US$95.49. Multiplying the rounded monthly display by 48 would give US$95.52, which is not the published payment. The evidence therefore uses US$95.49 for the initial commitment, with the observed US$13.99 monthly renewal reference.

The low monthly equivalent comes with a 48-month commitment and a materially higher later rate. Check the period the project expects to continue, the refund exclusions and the renewal invoice duration. Refund eligibility and exclusions depend on the selected service and current billing policy; do not assume every addition or situation will be refunded.

Plan testing without borrowing Pro’s entitlement

If the site changes plugins or templates frequently, decide where changes will be tested before choosing Starter. A free local WordPress copy can support learning and content preparation; it is not public hosting or proof of a production-equivalent environment. A required hosted staging workflow should be included in the selected quote.

Verify a representative migration and restore in a safe environment before relying on the service. Check an article, image and essential form after recovery. We have not performed those operations with hosting.com; the listed malware-removal and backup scope are provider descriptions, not our measured results.

Keep the email and domain arrangement documented even when the host supplies related services. Assign an owner for expiry notices and account recovery. The person editing articles should not need billing credentials just to publish, and the business should retain control if it later changes the host.

Compare the long term honestly

Hostinger also has long prepaid references, while SiteGround, DreamHost, Bluehost and HostGator provide different commitments and renewals. Compare actual initial payment, later rate, support and staging for the job. Managed WordPress alternatives such as Kinsta or Pressable deserve a separate operating-scope comparison.

Our editorial inference is to shortlist Starter when the long payment term, included bundle and five-site allowance fit. Skip it when Pro’s staging entitlement is essential but absent from the budget, or when the renewal would be unaffordable. A discount percentage alone does not settle that choice.

How to read these prices

Compare the job, the full initial commitment and the renewal billing basis. Each company appears once. Open Change plan to view every recorded plan and term. Showing a plan does not change your two-plan comparison. The initial view uses a recorded non-trial option where available; it is not a ranking. Feature marks are tied to the documented plan, market, limits and billing conditions. Their check dates are independent from price rechecks. Europe is not one price or tax jurisdiction; select your actual billing country at checkout. These are researched public offers, not checkout quotes or hands-on tests. Currency values are not conversions. Listing order does not depend on commission.
