GoDaddy: Diagram showing Website builder, Your domain. Check the selected plan.

GoDaddy offers three different website-building routes. The right starting point is the kind of site you want and how you want to maintain it, rather than a generic ‘from’ price. This guide separates the classic builder, standalone Airo AI Builder and Airo for WordPress using official documentation checked on 10 October 2026. We have not purchased or tested these paid services.

Which GoDaddy website product fits your task?

ProductWhat you build and editRequired serviceChoose it whenMain trade-off
Websites + MarketingA website using templates and manually arranged sections, with some AI featuresA Websites + Marketing plan covering the features you needYou want a guided template-and-section editor for a business website or a supported store workflowThe classic builder’s plan features are not the same as standalone Airo’s features or WordPress plugins
Airo AI BuilderCustom-coded websites and apps using agent chat, manual editing and code editingA standalone Airo AI Builder account; a paid plan is required to connect a custom domainYou want this agent-and-code workflow and can check the resulting site or app before relying on itAgent work uses credits; a working preview is not proof that every feature or integration meets your requirements
Airo for WordPressA WordPress website, editable through the WordPress dashboard and supported AI toolsGoDaddy Managed Hosting for WordPressYou want WordPress, its plugins and potentially WooCommerce, with the corresponding hosting serviceKeep a maintenance and recovery plan; resetting an existing site is destructive
Three products, three different building workflows

The product-identification help explicitly distinguishes these routes. A plan or allowance from one does not establish the same entitlement in another. If you already have a site, identify the actual product in your account before following an editing or migration tutorial.

Compare the complete quote for the product you chose

Start with a named product and tier in your actual billing country. Compare the amount payable for the initial term, its length and the renewal terms. Pagember uses USD references; a displayed currency does not establish purchaser eligibility, invoice country or tax treatment.

Cost or limitWhat to establish before paying
Website or hosting subscriptionExact product, tier, included projects or sites, billing term, initial payment and renewal conditions
DomainWhether you already own it; any introductory inclusion, its duration and the later renewal cost
Business emailWhether the required mailboxes are included, for how long, and what they cost afterwards
Airo agent creditsIncluded allowance, reset date, expected workflow and the optional cost of more credits
Store and integrationsRequired plan, payment processing, relevant extensions or external services and any separate charges
Operating workWho handles updates, testing, access, recovery and failures for the product you select
Budget lines to check alongside the base subscription

A headline starting rate without a product and tier is not a like-for-like plan comparison. Use the product distinction above to obtain the right quote, then compare it with a competitor covering the same job.

Standalone Airo: understand the agent and credit workflow

Airo AI Builder can create a custom-coded site or app from chat, while also allowing manual and code editing. Treat the generated result as something to review: test navigation, forms, permissions, integrations and recovery appropriate to the project. The provider’s production-readiness wording is not an independent test by Pagember.

Agent actions consume credits. The credit help lists previews, publishing, manual edits, file/code edits and domain connection as actions that do not consume credits. If the allowance runs out, waiting for its monthly reset is an alternative to purchasing more. Credit renewal can occur on a different date from subscription billing. Purchased packs expire after one year and belong to the purchasing account’s Airo AI Builder.

A credit allowance is not a guaranteed number of completed sites, successful changes or working integrations. Plan around the actions you actually need and check the result after important changes.

Keep your existing domain and email working

Connecting a custom domain to standalone Airo requires a paid Airo AI Builder plan and a published project. You can connect a domain you already own, including one registered outside GoDaddy; buying or transferring another domain is not a general requirement.

The connection procedure depends on the DNS provider and the connection offered. Some flows request authorization to make changes; others provide records to apply. Review the requested changes against your existing DNS, especially mail-related records, before authorizing them. Use the records for your actual project rather than copying an example from another site.

Saving and publishing are separate actions. Airo saves work automatically; Publish makes changes available online, and the help documents an Unpublish option. Do not treat a free experiment or preview as a production entitlement on your own domain.

Airo for WordPress is a hosting and WordPress choice

The documented creation process begins with Managed Hosting for WordPress and a new WordPress site. The resulting site can be edited in the WordPress dashboard and uses the WordPress ecosystem, including plugins and WooCommerce. This does not mean every extension, store requirement or operating task is included in the hosting subscription.

Assign responsibility for updates, backups, restore access and checking important changes. If you are moving an existing website, plan a migration and recovery route first. The documented Reset action deletes the current site; it is not a safe substitute for migration or a reversible preview.

For a classic builder store, check the actual commerce plan

Websites + Marketing documents an online-store workflow covering physical or digital products, payments, taxes, shipping and testing. The presence of a workflow in help does not prove that every feature is included in every plan or region. Match your product type, payment method, shipping needs and integrations to the exact plan before choosing it.

Compare that setup with the corresponding hosted-store or WooCommerce alternative, rather than comparing an entry information-site rate with a complete store budget.

Compare the same job, not just the brand

For a hosted template website, compare the editor and required features with hosted builders such as Wix or Squarespace. For a WordPress site, compare the hosting responsibilities and required extensions. For a custom-coded Airo app, assess the integrations, access model and verification work you need; a template-builder plan is not automatically an equivalent alternative.

Understand website builders versus WordPress before choosing the workflow, then use our website-builder cost guide in USD to compare commitment, renewal and extras.

Before you choose a subscription

  • Identify Websites + Marketing, standalone Airo AI Builder or Airo for WordPress by its full product name.
  • List the features, sites, team access and integrations you actually require.
  • Confirm the initial payment, term, renewal, tax country and separately charged extras in the selected quote.
  • Keep ownership of the domain and accounts, and preserve existing email when DNS changes.
  • Test the result before depending on it; arrange recovery before replacing an existing site.
