Sucuri is a website-security candidate when the project needs a clear firewall or incident-cleanup scope. First distinguish the Security Platform from a standalone Firewall subscription. A firewall service and a human cleanup service are different purchases, and neither should be assumed to include an independent backup automatically.
We researched official public information on 7 October 2026. We have not routed a site through Sucuri, submitted an incident, measured protection or tested response times. The Basic Platform reference was US$229 annually for one site, with checkout taxes and future renewal unconfirmed.
What the Platform reference describes
The Basic Platform lists a firewall, CDN, monitoring and human malware cleanup. The standalone Firewall does not include that cleanup scope. Backup is a separate purchase or responsibility. Decide who needs to investigate and recover a site, rather than treating every service with a security label as the same operational help.
| Question | What to compare | Decision |
|---|---|---|
| Filter traffic | Firewall configuration and legitimate workflows | Compare the selected firewall entitlement. |
| Recover an infected site | Human cleanup scope and access requirements | A standalone firewall is not the Platform cleanup service. |
| Restore damaged content | Independent backup and tested restore route | Budget for recovery rather than assuming a firewall supplies it. |
Plan the DNS change
Using the described firewall route requires DNS changes. Keep access to the domain’s DNS under the owner’s control and record the existing website and email configuration before changing it. Review the specific current setup instructions and avoid removing unrelated mail records while configuring a website service.
Identify legitimate operations that must continue: administrator login, publishing, forms and any checkout or external integration. Evaluate them after setup and retain a recovery route for a mistaken block. We have not performed that configuration on a Sucuri account, so this guide does not claim compatibility with a particular site.
Read the scope with the annual price
Use the US$229 annual reference as a starting point for one site, not an unlimited multi-site contract. Ask for eligibility, cleanup exclusions, support availability and the selected renewal terms. A described response target is a seller condition, not an independently measured response time.
A small publication with an owner who maintains updates and checks alerts may need a different service from a business unable to investigate incidents. Compare the actual operator gap before buying a larger service. Purchasing software alone does not assign someone to perform recovery work.
Write down which incident actions remain yours. Contacting the service, granting appropriate access, protecting recent content and confirming the recovered site all need an owner. For a store or member site, preserve the relevant data before replacing files or a database. Do not treat the presence of a firewall as proof that backups can be abandoned.
Compare complementary tools fairly
Wordfence is a WordPress-oriented plugin and service route to evaluate, while BlogVault and TeamUpdraft concern backup and restore workflows. The host may supply some monitoring or response work already. Compare written responsibility and access requirements; do not rank a backup against a firewall as if only one were needed.
Our editorial inference is to shortlist the Platform when its cleanup and firewall scope fills a documented operational gap. Skip an upgrade duplicating an existing service without a clear improvement, and keep a separate recoverable copy of important content. Confirm the selected contract and DNS procedure before paying.
Continue with free versus paid WordPress security, the security and backup budget and changing domain records without breaking email.

How to read these prices
Compare the job, the full initial commitment and the renewal billing basis. Each company appears once. Open Change plan to view every recorded plan and term. Showing a plan does not change your two-plan comparison. The initial view uses a recorded non-trial option where available; it is not a ranking. Feature marks are tied to the documented plan, market, limits and billing conditions. Their check dates are independent from price rechecks. Europe is not one price or tax jurisdiction; select your actual billing country at checkout. These are researched public offers, not checkout quotes or hands-on tests. Currency values are not conversions. Listing order does not depend on commission.
